Organizational Branding

The Organizational Branding section in OSPROV System Settings allows administrators to customize the visual identity and branding elements of their OSPROV installation. This feature enables organizations to maintain their brand consistency throughout the application interface.

Accessing Organizational Branding Settings

  1. Navigate to System Settings from the main menu
  2. Click on the Appearance tab
  3. Locate the Organizational Branding section

Available Branding Options

1. Company Name

Purpose: Sets the organization's name that appears throughout the application interface.

How to Configure:

  • Enter your organization's full name in the "Company Name" field
  • This name will be displayed in various locations within the application
  • Leave blank to use the default application name

Best Practices:

  • Use your official organization name
  • Keep it concise but descriptive
  • Avoid special characters that might cause display issues

Purpose: Displays your organization's logo in the application header and other prominent locations.

How to Configure:

  1. Click the "Choose File" button next to "Company Logo"
  2. Select your logo file from your computer
  3. Click "Upload" to apply the logo
  4. Once uploaded, a preview of your logo will appear below the upload field

Technical Requirements:

  • Supported formats: PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, SVG
  • Recommended size: 200x60 pixels (width x height)
  • Maximum file size: 2MB
  • For best results, use a transparent background (PNG format)

Best Practices:

  • Use high-resolution images for crisp display
  • Ensure the logo is readable at small sizes
  • Test the logo appearance on both light and dark backgrounds

3. App Title

Purpose: Sets a custom title for the application that appears in browser tabs and page headers.

How to Configure:

  • Enter your desired application title in the "App Title" field
  • This will override the default "OSPROV" title
  • Leave blank to use the default application title

Best Practices:

  • Keep it short and memorable
  • Include your organization name if desired
  • Consider SEO implications for public-facing instances

4. Front Page Background Image

Purpose: Sets a custom background image for the application's front page or login screen.

How to Configure:

  1. Click the "Choose File" button next to "Front Page Background Image"
  2. Select your background image file
  3. Click "Upload" to apply the background

Technical Requirements:

  • Supported formats: PNG, JPG, JPEG
  • Recommended size: 1920x1080 pixels or higher
  • Maximum file size: 5MB
  • Consider file size for loading performance

Best Practices:

  • Use high-quality images that represent your organization
  • Ensure good contrast with text elements
  • Test readability of login forms over the background
  • Consider using subtle, non-distracting images

5. Favicon

Purpose: Sets the small icon that appears in browser tabs, bookmarks, and browser history.

How to Configure:

  1. Click the "Choose File" button next to "Favicon"
  2. Select your favicon file
  3. Click "Upload" to apply the favicon
  4. A preview of the favicon will appear below the upload field

Technical Requirements:

  • Recommended size: 180x180 pixels (as noted in the interface)
  • Supported formats: ICO, PNG, JPG
  • Square aspect ratio required
  • Larger images will be automatically resized

Best Practices:

  • Use your company logo or a simplified version
  • Ensure the icon is recognizable at very small sizes (16x16 pixels)
  • Use simple, high-contrast designs
  • Test visibility across different browsers

Display Options

Show Available Systems at Login Page

Purpose: Controls whether multiple system options are displayed on the login page.

How to Configure:

  • Check the box to show available systems at login
  • Uncheck to hide the system selection options

When to Use:

  • Enable if you want to show multiple system options at login
  • Disable if you have only one system and want to simplify the login process

Managing Your Branding

Remove Custom Branding

Purpose: Quickly removes all custom branding elements and returns to default appearance.

How to Use:

  1. Click the "Remove Custom Branding" button
  2. This action will:
    • Clear the company name field
    • Remove the uploaded company logo
    • Remove the uploaded favicon
    • Hide logo and favicon previews
Important Notes
  • This action cannot be undone
  • Background images and app titles are not affected by this button
  • You will need to re-upload files if you want to restore branding later

Previewing Changes

  • Logo and favicon previews appear automatically after successful upload
  • Company logo preview shows at 100px width
  • Favicon preview shows at 32px width (actual size)
  • Changes take effect immediately after saving the settings

Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions

Logo/Favicon not displaying:

  • Check file format compatibility
  • Ensure file size is within limits
  • Verify file is not corrupted
  • Clear browser cache and refresh

Images appear blurry or pixelated:

  • Upload higher resolution images
  • Use recommended dimensions
  • Avoid upscaling small images

Background image affects readability:

  • Choose images with appropriate contrast
  • Consider adding overlay effects
  • Test with actual login forms

Changes not visible:

  • Clear browser cache
  • Check if changes were saved properly
  • Verify user permissions for making changes

File Upload Limits

If you encounter upload errors:

  • Check your server's file upload limits
  • Compress images to reduce file size
  • Contact your system administrator for server configuration

Security Considerations

  • Only upload images from trusted sources
  • Scan files for malware before uploading
  • Be cautious with SVG files as they can contain scripts
  • Regularly review and update branding assets
